Healing Journey

I believe that each and every individual has the desire to be healthy; that the human body always moves toward health and healing. Sometimes we are faced with barriers that block our ability to be healthy, be successful, and/or feel good about ourselves. I believe my role is to work collaboratively with clients to help them discover what those barriers are and to help them learn how they can either manage symptoms, or remove those barriers to return to optimum health/success. This becomes the Healing Journey I will embark upon with each client.

 

 

What is counseling, and is it right for me?

Counseling is an effective process that assists in developing skills and healing sources of pain that have previously gotten in the way of our ability to freely manage our lives. Similar to physical fitness, emotional fitness requires commitment. It can sometimes be easier to avoid emotional pain, just like it is easy to avoid physical exercise. However, when we avoid emotional pain, it will usually create much more pain over time than the original problem. If you are motivated to work for desired changes, and willing to put in the time, money and energy into the process mental health counseling is right for you.
